Take a long weekend during peak flower bloom to backpack the spine of the Teton Range. We start at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and take a Tram ride up to save 4100’ of climbing. This head start makes the 28-mile trail lose elevation overall and make only one major ascent at hurricane pass. The route is still rigorous but achievable to someone with basic fitness. The fee includes transportation, park entrance, sanitation supplies, water filters, food canisters and group navigation and emergency supplies. It does not include food, personal equipment or a tram pass. The pre-trip is a chance to discuss equipment, food, and logistics and meet your fellow participants. Participants should expect to carry 30-40 pounds for 10 miles a day. Responsible teens with appropriate expectations are welcome.
Pre-trip meeting: July 27 at 6:00 p.m. at the Community Recreation Center
August 26, 2017, 5:00 AM
Climb the highest peak in Idaho. The ‘climb’ is mostly a long hike with one small section of non-technical scrambling. We will head out at 5 a.m. Participants need sturdy shoes, a backpack, water bottles or a bladder and appropriate clothing. (ages 12+ w/ adult, 16+ without adult)
Pre-trip meeting is August 5 at 6:00 p.m. at the Community Recreation Center.
