Tranmer Retires After 26 Years with City of Pocatello

A fixture at Pocatello City Hall is stepping down after more than two decades on the job.

City Attorney Dean Tranmer is retiring following 26 years of service to the City of Pocatello. A reception will be held in Dean’s honor Friday, July 14 at 3 p.m. in the Pocatello City Council Chambers. Friends, family, and former co-workers are all invited to attend.

“I’ll miss the variety of legal work I’ve been able to be a part of with the City of Pocatello.” Tranmer said. “Specifically, I’ll miss my work on municipal water rights and economic development. I’ll also miss the people I’ve been fortunate to work with at the City and serving the citizens of Pocatello.”

“It’s been a pleasure working with Dean,” said Mayor Brian Blad. “He has served the City diligently for 26 years and been a great asset to us. He will be deeply missed.”

Following his retirement from the City, Tranmer says he intends on continuing to practice law and exploring options in the legal field along with spending more time with his family.
