Which Pocatello roads are scheduled to get a new look has been released.
Recently, the City of Pocatello Street Operations Department released its proposed Yearly Paving Plan for 2017. The schedule details which roads in the Gate City should be completely resurfaced or will receive a chip seal, a fog-seal, or a micro-seal treatment. This year the department will be looking to treat roughly 38 miles of city streets.
“The unrelenting winter we experienced forced the department to rearrange some of the projects,” said Tom Kirkman, Street Operations Superintendent. “Some roads experienced extensive damage from potholes and have been reevaluated and scheduled to receive an appropriate treatment sooner than expected.”
2016 saw the department treat 33 miles of streets in Pocatello. The Gate City is served by more than 260 miles of road.

While the plan is a guide for the work that should be completed in 2017, officials would like to remind residents that inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could lead to some projects being postponed or canceled.
