Members of the Fire Consolidation Steering Committee, which is tasked with exploring the possible consolidation of the Pocatello and Chubbuck Fire Departments, will present their findings during a Joint Pocatello/Chubbuck City Council meeting Thursday, October 22, 2015.
Committee members will address the Pocatello City Council and Chubbuck City Council at 8 a.m. in the Chubbuck City Council Chambers. The committee is comprised of elected officials from Pocatello and Chubbuck, fire chiefs and firefighter union representatives from both cities, and a representative from the county commission.
“The committee has done a tremendous amount of work on this issue and it is now time for the councils to hear what they’ve found,” said Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad. “It’s also a chance for the elected officials to get any questions they may have about the consolidation answered and provide direction to the committee going forward.”
The public is encouraged and invited to attend but public comment will not be taken at this meeting. Comments from the public will be accepted at a later date.
