Water Main Replacement Begins Monday for Myrtle Street, Balsam Street Area

Starting next week, crews with the City of Pocatello Water Department will begin replacing the water main and other fixtures in the Myrtle and Balsam Streets area.

Work is scheduled to begin Monday, March 27 and crews will be installing a new water main line, fire hydrants, and water meter boxes. The project is anticipated to last six to eight weeks and during the project, sections of the street will be closed. Parking will be restricted and residents are asked to park all vehicles away from the construction zone during the day. However, every effort will be made to provide local access to homes when possible. The project will cause temporary disruptions to water service and residents in and around the construction zone are encouraged to keep a supply of drinking water available.

Parents are asked to warn children of the safety hazards related to the construction and to stay a safe distance from the work area.

Officials apologize for any inconvenience the project may cause. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the work schedule may be altered.

Residents with questions about this or any other Water Department projects are invited to call 208-234-6182.
