Street Operations Department to Haul Snow in Portions of City

This weekend, the City of Pocatello Street Operations Department will be burning the midnight oil.

From Saturday at midnight to 8 a.m. and Sunday at midnight to 8 a.m., the department will be picking up and hauling away snow in portions of town. Saturday, crews will be working from West Whitman Street to West Wyeth Street between Union Pacific Avenue to North and South Garfield Avenue. Sunday, crews will be working from East Lewis Street to East Lander Street between 1st Avenue to 8th Avenue. To help reach as much snow as possible, residents are asked to park their vehicles on a street that is not scheduled to be worked on that morning.

“The amount of snow is beginning to make parking along these streets extremely difficult, as well as impeding travelers on the road,” said Tom Kirkman, Street Operations Superintendent. “We would like to thank residents for their cooperation in advance.”

A map of the impacted areas can be found at

Residents with questions about the effort are asked to contact the Street Operations Department at 208-234-6250.
