For the second year in a row, the Pocatello Fire Department and the Bannock County Ambulance District are being recognized by the American Heart Association for maintaining the highest levels of service for cardiac care.
The two groups were recently honored by the association’s Mission: Lifeline EMS Recognition program which honors outstanding emergency medical service providers. This year the department has reached Gold status.
“I’m very proud of the members of this department for their hard work and effort,” said Chief David Gates. “Last year, it was nice to be awarded silver status but it’s a great feeling to see them reach the pinnacle. This achievement is a testament to their continued dedication to providing exceptional service to our community.”
To be eligible for Gold-level distinction, departments must meet specific criteria related to heart attack care for a two-year period.
