The rain will be falling while the sun is shining at parks around Pocatello this summer thanks to the Pocatello Fire and Police Departments.
Starting Thursday, June 30 at 12 p.m., the departments will join forces to bring “cool rain” to Raymond Park in Pocatello. During the event, firefighters station an engine in the park and turn the hoses on, giving park-goers a chance to cool off in the simulated rain. Firefighters and officers will also be on hand to talk to children about bullying, smoke alarms, home-escape planning, and more.
“This is a great opportunity to come learn a little bit, meet your local police officers and firemen, and get a break from the hot weather,” said Kim Stouse, Community Relations/Education Specialist with the Pocatello Fire Department.
Tentatively, cool rain events have also been scheduled for July 21 at Alameda Park and August 4 at OK Ward Park. All events began at noon and are weather/emergency call permitting.
