At a special meeting Monday, June 27 the Pocatello City Council “will consider a possible violation of the requirements of the Idaho Open Meeting Act by the Fact Finding Panel during the negotiations of the IAFF Local 187 Collective Bargaining Agreement.”
On June 16, City officials were made aware by the City’s negotiator, Scott Marotz, that deliberations and the decision by the three-person panel in December may have violated the State of Idaho’s Open Meeting Law.
In the event that the Council determines that a violation occurred, pursuant to Idaho’s Open Meeting Act, the Fact Finding Panel decision will be null and void.
Monday’s meeting is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
