This week, East Idaho residents will get the chance to ask their questions about spent nuclear fuel of the Gem State’s chief legal officer.
Thursday, June 9 at 6 p.m. in the Pocatello City Council Chambers, Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden is holding a Town Hall meeting to discuss his decision to stop spent nuclear fuel from coming to the Idaho National Laboratory. During the meeting, Attorney General Wasden will provide a history of the issue, including the 1995 Settlement Agreement with the Department of Energy, through where negotiations stand in the present day. After his presentation, Attorney General Wasden will take questions from the audience.
“What happens at the Idaho National Laboratory has an impact on everyone in East Idaho,” said Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad. “I’d like to invite residents to stop in and have their questions, opinions, and concerns be heard.”
Thursday’s meeting is expected to last until 8 p.m.
