A pair of proclamations are set to be issued at Thursday’s Pocatello City Council meeting.
The first was requested by the Portneuf Valley Bike to Work Committee and declares the month of May as Pocatello Bike to Work Month. The proclamation encourages “employers to support their employees’ participation in the Bike to Work Employee challenge” and will be read by Councilman Michael Orr It also establishes May 20 as Bike to Work Day and May 16 through May 20 as Bike to Work Week.
The second looks to establish May 1 through May 7 as Municipal Clerks Week and formally extends “appreciation to our Municipal Clerk, Ruth Whitworth and to all Municipal Clerks for the vital services they perform and their dedication to the communities they represent.” The proclamation was request by staff with the City of Pocatello and will be read by Councilman Craig Cooper.
Thursday’s meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
