Pocatello Police officers raised over $1,000 for Special Olympics in one day by bagging groceries for customers at Ridley's Family Markets. Officers participated in “Bagging for Bucks”, in which uniformed police bag groceries and request “tips” or donations to support the athletes of Special Olympics Idaho.
Twelve Pocatello Police officers donated their time Friday, April 22 for this special cause. “Community members were extremely generous and kind,” stated Captain Terry Felsman, who bagged groceries at the Ridley’s Pocatello Creek location. “It was a pleasure to talk to people about Special Olympics.”
Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. One hundred percent of funds raised in Idaho remain in the state to benefit Idaho Special Olympians.
