A local librarian is in the beginning stages of resurrecting the memory of a Pocatello neighborhood that’s been lost in time.
Trent Clegg, Reference Specialist at the Marshall Public Library, is looking for residents to share their recollections and stories from the Cupetville neighborhood. The area is believed to have existed in the northwestern portion of Pocatello.
“We started looking into Cupetville after a patron called the library and asked if we had any information on it,” said Clegg. “Frankly, what we have is not much and we’ve only been able to find a brief mention of it in a newspaper article from March 1967. We’d like to hear from people who may have lived in the area, have memories of the neighborhood, anything that can help in our research and help preserve this little piece of history.”
To submit your stories and memories of the Cupetville neighborhood, they can be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, mailed to the library at 113 South Garfield Avenue, Pocatello, ID 83204, or contact the library at 232-1263 to setup an interview.
