The City of Pocatello Planning and Development Services and Public Works staff want to know what the public thinks about the proposed revisions to the City’s subdivision ordinance.
Wednesday, March 30 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., City staff will be hosting a general information meeting in the Pocatello City Council Chambers to gather citizen feedback on the proposed ordinance revisions. Staff will present an overview of the proposed changes, answer questions, and take comments from attendees. The proposed ordinance includes reorganization and clarifications of application procedures, expanded definitions of terminology, and other clarifications pertaining to the subdivision platting and recording process.
The purpose of the proposed revisions is to bring the subdivision ordinance into compliance with the City’s current zoning provisions, Idaho code, and new development practices. The intent is to create an ordinance that is streamlined and easier to understand for residents, construction and development industry professionals, and City staff.
Looking ahead, staff will hold a public hearing April 13 with the City’s Planning and Zoning Commission to get the commission’s recommendation. Tentatively, May 19 the proposed ordinance will have a public hearing in front of the City Council at which time the Council may consider adoption of the new ordinance.
The public can also submit their comments or questions via email to Dave Foster, Associate Planner, at email@example.com.
