City of Pocatello employees have opened their pocketbooks to the tune of more than $24,500 for the United Way of Southeastern Idaho.
The donations were collected through the United Way of Southeastern Idaho’s annual campaign that began back in September 2015. Employees made the donations either through bi-weekly payroll deductions or a one-time gift. Workers were also able to target their donation to certain efforts such as helping children, promoting health, or specific non-profit groups.
“I would like to thank the employees for their generosity and commitment to improving lives in Pocatello and East Idaho,” said Brian Wellard, Campaign Manager and Operations Supervisor with the City of Pocatello Sanitation Department.
The donations average just over $111 for the 221 employees who participated. When combined with last year, employees have donated over $52,000 in the past two years.
