The City of Pocatello Human Relations Advisory Committee is asking the public to weigh in on who they think has done the most to advance human rights over the past year.
The committee is currently looking for nominations for the 2016 Human and Civil Rights Award. The award honors those who have worked to end discrimination, improve intergroup relations, and eliminate hate motivated incidents in Pocatello.
“Human rights issues impact us all,” said Jamar Brown, Chairperson of the Human Relations Advisory Committee. “We want to recognize those who have put forth so much time and effort to ensure that Pocatello is a safe, welcoming community.”
Nominations will be accepted until December 14, 2015. A list of past winners is included below.
