AIRPORT COMMISSION UPDATE

Representatives from the Airport Commission will discuss the Commission’s goals and projects, as well as Council’s policies and expectations.

CHILD CARE ADVISORY COMMITTEE UPDATE

Representatives from the Child Care Advisory Committee will discuss the Committee’s goals and projects, as well as Council’s policies and expectations.
4.

SENIOR COMPLEX PROPOSAL

Sharon Manning, United Senior Project Chairperson, (830 Spyglass Point, Pocatello, ID 83204) will be present to discuss a proposal being developed by the United Senior Project. Ms. Manning will share plans regarding the proposed complex and to ask for Council Support regarding the complex.

POCATELLO ARTS COUNCIL EVENTS UPDATE

Frank Hartlieb, Pocatello Arts Council Chair Person, will be present to update the Council regarding the following events: 1) Sculpture installation; 2) Arts Council Award; and 3) addition of city/area art links to the Arts Council website.

YELLOWSTONE/ALAMEDA INTERSECTION PROJECT UPDATE

Representatives from the Idaho Transportation Department will be present to update the Council on the Yellowstone Avenue and Alameda Road intersection project. Representatives will provide a brief summary of the project’s progress.

INTERSTATE 86/INTERSTATE 15 INTERCHANGE PROJECT

Representatives from the Idaho Transportation Department will be present to update the Council on the Interstate 86/Interstate 15 Interchange project known as the “Wye.” The project is just beginning the design process and is currently scheduled for construction in 2022 and 2023.

ZONING ORDINANCE REWRITE AND ZONING MAP REVISIONS

Planning staff will be in attendance to discuss a proposed update regarding the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map for the City of Pocatello.

LEAD BASED PAINT HAZARD CONTROL PROPOSAL

Neighborhood and Community Services staff will be present to discuss the possibility of applying for a Lead Based Paint Hazard Control Grant through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The grant would be for $1.5 million over three years and a 10% match which can be in-kind support by existing staff. Staff is asking for direction on continuing the application process. Should the Council determine to move forward, this matter will be scheduled for the March 16, 2017 Regular Council meeting in order to meet the application deadline of March 23, 2017.

PROPOSED REVISIONS—ALLOWABLE CITY PARK ACTIVITIES/SHELTER USE

Parks and Recreation staff will be present to review current policy and proposed revisions to Pocatello Municipal Code (12.26 PUBLIC PARKS), regarding the reserved use of, and allowable activities in City Parks.

PUBLIC WORKS DESIGN PRINCIPLES AND STANDARDS UPDATE

Engineering staff will be present to give an update from the February 9, 2017 Study Session regarding the City of Pocatello Public Works Design Principles and Standards. Staff will provide a proposed schedule to incorporate the design principles into Pocatello Municipal Code Title 12 by ordinance and to adopt the standards by resolution (which may be modified from time-to-time.)

STORMWATER RETENTION/DETENTION FACILITY UPATE

City staff will present an update on questions asked by City Council concerning stormwater retention and detention facilities.
