D.A.R.E. Resources

This page is designed to help answer questions from students about a variety of D.A.R.E. topics. Here we have video and information links that we hope you find helpful.

Question About State/Local Law
Access the state of Idaho legislature website where you can search any Idaho statute. Just type the keywords of the item you are looking for and it will bring up all of the laws that associated with it. (for example: if you want to know about Idaho bicycle laws, type “bicycle” in the search box and it will bring up all of the laws in Idaho about bicycles)

Access a law search for local ordinances in the city of Pocatello; these are laws that pertain to people living inside the city of Pocatello. Just type the keywords of the item you are looking for and it will bring up all of the laws associated with it. (for example: if you want to know about Pocatello bicycle laws, type bicycle in the search box and it will bring up all of the Pocatello City ordinance laws about bicycles.)

Tasers
We are getting several questions in the classrooms about the new police tool called the "Taser". Watch the video from KPVI Channel 6 that describes how the Taser works as well as video footage of the reporter getting Tasered.

Information on Crime in Your Area
Crimereports.com is an excellent resource to see the police calls that are occurring in your area. View a city-wide map of Pocatello crime statistics. Simply type in your home address or zoom to your neighborhood to see what types of crimes are being reported in your area.

Drug Information
Do you want more information about illegal drugs? Access the United States Drug Enforcement Administration Drug information page. This is a great resource for kids, parents and teachers. Here you can find information on any drug, the effects from that drug, health consequences from that drug, as well as photo's to see what the drug looks like.

Drinking It In
"Drinking it in" is a D.A.R.E sponsored video about alcohol advertising and kids. It shows the impact that alcohol adverting can have on kids.
